Let Love Elevate Education, and Walk with the World-Renowned Educational Brand KUMON

Originating from Japan and popular in over 50 countries and regions, KUMON Education has over 4.35 million learning subjects and is one of the world's largest franchise-based educational brands, with rich educational experience and reputation. In KUMON's philosophy, the goal is to discover and cultivate each child's innate potential. Through an individualized, ability-based learning approach, KUMON helps children develop self-learning skills and exceed grade levels. This is the core belief of the global KUMON team.

KUMON hopes that every franchisee can become a lifelong learner. As they grow, they will improve the quality of their classrooms and ensure sustainable business operations. Therefore, KUMON designs professional training courses for each franchisee to help them realize their dreams. KUMON expects teachers to possess the abilities to manage, guide, and communicate effectively, so that they can work together to become both professional educators and business operators.

As the soul of the KUMON program, teachers must pay close attention to every child's learning state, thoroughly understand each child's true ability, and create learning progress plans for the next three, six, or twelve months based on diagnostic tests and various levels of material assessments. Teachers are also responsible for regularly updating parents on their child's learning progress and outcomes and maintaining consistent communication.

Every day in a KUMON classroom, teachers prepare for the tasks they need to execute. Before the children arrive, they select the appropriate materials based on the children's actual abilities. Once the students are in class, the teachers not only check the homework but also monitor and confirm the children's learning status. They focus on each child's self-learning progress, providing appropriate guidance if necessary. After completing the day's materials, teachers immediately correct errors, guiding children to correct their mistakes on their own. Only when children master the content is the learning considered complete. Teachers also check the status of the students' language subjects—listening, speaking, and writing skills—and offer guidance accordingly. Finally, when the children are about to leave, the teacher confirms the day's learning results and provides proper encouragement and praise, reminding them of key points for their homework.

Wu Mingjuan, a KUMON teacher with thirty-five years of experience, now leads the classroom with the most students in the country. She shares her experience guiding young children. In her observations, she found that children initially only interact with their mothers due to unfamiliarity. By gradually guiding them according to their abilities, building their skills, and continuously offering praise and encouragement, children gain confidence and a sense of achievement, which helps them keep progressing. Especially the improvements in focus and self-learning abilities are the greatest joys for teachers. More importantly, during the learning process, teachers must maintain close and positive communication with parents, adjusting lessons as needed based on the child’s performance in class and at home. Wu Mingjuan shares her feelings: "Seeing children achieve good results in their learning is the greatest pride of KUMON education!"
