When Huixin started kindergarten, she had just moved from Taiwan to the United States. Because she couldn't speak the language and couldn't make any friends, she felt very frustrated. After her parents searched for options, they decided to take her to KUMON to learn math and English. Now, she is in the fourth grade and is doing eighth-grade level math. Huixin believes KUMON's learning method is excellent! The teacher guides her to find the answers herself, and she progresses very quickly. In third and fourth grade, she was even selected as the best and fastest student in her class. Therefore, she is very grateful to KUMON! Let's take a look at Huixin's share, written in English:

How I started KUMON

On the first day in Kindergarten, I had just moved from Taiwan and I didn't know English. So when I went to school, I couldn’t communicate with other people to make friends. I had no idea what people were saying. The teachers would have to spend so much time with me to get to the same level as the other kids. But it took too long . Because I couldn’t make any friends, no one could stand up for me at school. One day after school, I cried to my parents saying “I need to learn English! I need to learn!” in Chinese.

Then, one night, I overheard my parents saying, “We should find a tutor. Because we can’t be having her cry to us all the time!” The next morning, they told me and they looked all over for a good tutoring program. One evening, my parents brought me to this tutoring center. And it was called KUMON. And the moment I sat down on the chairs, I knew this was the right place for me. And I loved it. I went to KUMON for about 5 years and attended there every single week! I would spend my time studying if I could but I had other homework. The teachers were very nice and my parents thought that the homework that was given was a reasonable amount.

Around the same time, my math was really bad. And I needed to catch up to the other students. So, I was booked to do English and math together when I went to KUMON. During my math, I found the potential on how fun it was. When I had my difficulties, I would spend my time working on the question and ones that are related to it. I kept doing that for about half a decade and now, I am over my grade level by 4 years. I am now in 4th grade and I am now doing 8th grade math because I have been working with KUMON for 5 years.

I think KUMON is an amazing tutoring and that the scholars that have trouble learning should go to KUMON because the teachers help you with the questions but they would keep giving you clues but not the answers to the mystery. So, because I follow KUMON, I can now solve algebra. And to me, sometimes it’s really easy. I was brought to different places but I didn’t like any of them. KUMON was one of my favorite tutoring places, and from then on, I kept going through the questions at school like a champ! Now, in 3rd and 4th grade, I have been elected as the best and fastest student in the class. Thanks to KUMON.
