KUMON Taiwan Connects with the World, Aligning with Global Standards
The KUMON Method, which has been popular worldwide for 60 years, has sparked a global trend of individualized self-learning across 50 countries. Taiwan officially introduced the KUMON brand in 2017, marking a step towards global integration.
On the afternoon of September 25, KUMON Taiwan hosted a grand press conference at its Taipei headquarters to celebrate the transition and alignment of the international education brand. The event was attended by He Qi-yu, CEO of CommonWealth Education, Liu Yan-qing, Vice Editor-in-Chief of Merit Times, and several media reporters, esteemed guests, teachers, and parents. They gathered together to witness the ceremony of KUMON's philosophy inheritance and brand transformation.
The origins of KUMON Taiwan trace back to Dr. Tsai Xue-ni, founder of Kon Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation. Dr. Tsai was amazed by the effectiveness of the KUMON Method when he saw young children in Japan learning advanced subjects like junior high school-level simultaneous equations. This led Dr. Tsai to bring the KUMON method to Taiwan, so Taiwanese children could also benefit from it. Over the past 40 years, through the KUMON education model, children in Taiwan have developed confidence, perseverance, a spirit of challenge, and the self-learning abilities needed to face future challenges.
Now, in 2017, Taiwan officially adopted the KUMON brand, aligning with global standards. Taiwan has also become the first country in the KUMON network to offer franchise opportunities, inviting more people who are passionate about education to join KUMON and help more children, enriching more families.
